Message From CUEC Chairman

    It is full 20 years, 20 years of hard pioneering work.
    China National Electric Import & Export Corporation(CUEC) was born in spring breeze of reform and opening up on December 5, 1980. Through 20 years of unremitting efforts, it has developed into a specialized foreign trade corporation with a dozen subsidiaries from an industry trade association with only a dozen working personnel.
    CUECintegrates trades with the development of science and technology and production under the system of the general manager assuming the sole responsibility under the leadership of the board of directors. The 24 member units are all strong large and medium-sized enterprises and research institutions. Over the past 20 years, it has constantly expanded areas of operation, with the import and export volume growing steadily.
    With the advent of the 21st century and the pending accession to the WTO, we are facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. We shall deepen the reform of the property right system, accelerate the process of conversion into joint stock companies and introduce a modern enterprise system. We shall optimize the product mix, launch the name-brand strategy to raise international competitive power and open up both the domestic and foreign markets so as to go along with the new trend of economic, globalization.
    The 21st century is full of hoes. Let us seize the opportunities, take up the challenges and create a more beautiful future.
